Yester Kirk goes blue to thank our carers

Some weeks ago Morag Mackintosh suggested on Facebook Gifford Families that lighting Yester Kirk in blue for the Thursday night 'clap for carers' would be a lovely tribute from the village.

We are delighted to say that with the support of Aniko and the Yester Church family, and electrician James Watt, the church will be lit blue from 8pm-11pm on Thursdays from tonight onwards.

PLEASE DON'T BE TEMPTED TO VISIT - lockdown and social distancing rules are incredibly important and the clap for carers remains a doorstep event. However if you live alongside the Church or are taking your daily exercise in a safe way during this time please share your photos online so the village can see the support.

We are really grateful to Morag, Aniko, James and Wendy for making this possible. We're also really grateful to our keyworkers and carers everywhere, our fabulous Co-op and Hoggs newsagent, and our volunteers who are making a real difference for our village. We're clapping for all of you. 💙💙

Thank you to Kim Stewart for this lovely picture
